General Questions


1.     How could I apply for NPRA services after the decision of stopping receiving applicants?

·       Applicants could apply through the website “npra.gov.bh” and select “the directorate services”, then select the concerned directorate and the application type. They should read the terms and conditions and the required services. After that, they could apply through the “Contact Us” system mentioned below by selecting “apply” or “Other” and follow steps highlighted in the Contact Us system and attach the form and required documents when applying. 

             

2.     What are the NPRA services? What are the required documents to apply for services? What are the fees for the services?

·       The NPRA listed its’ various directorates services in the homepage of its website “npra.gov.bh” in the “Directorate Services” icon. After selecting the “Directorate Services” the concerned directorate and type of service, the terms and conditions and required documents for the service and the fees would be mentioned.

 

3.     Could I contact the concerned directorate for further inquiries?

·       In case of inquiries, you can contact the concerned directorate through the following channels:

-           NPRA website “npra.gov.bh” and select “Contact Us” system on the homepage and then inquiries and follow the instructions Call 17399764.   

 

4.     How long it takes for the application to be processed?

·       The processing of NPRA services takes no more than 5 working days after providing all requirements and documents.

             

5.     Do the fees of the NPRA services vary if they are provided electronically?

·       No, the services fees are the same as the fees before the decision of stopping receiving applicants at the NPRA building. To learn more about the service fee, visit the website “npra.gov.bh”. 

 

6.     How to follow up the status of your application via the website?

·       You can follow up the status of your application by visiting the website “npra.gov.bh” and select “Contact Us” system in the homepage, then press “Review the Application”, fill required details and follow the needed steps to know the status of your request.            


7.     How to pay the fees for provided services?

·       A link would be sent via the email and the mobile phone listed in the application that would take you to the fee payment page.              

 

8.     Would you be notified if you didn’t fulfil the requirements and documents of the applications or it would be automatically rejected?

·       The applicant would be notified via the email mentioned in the application about the requirements and documents that should be attached within 5 days from the date of notification.        

 

9.     How to correct an error after applying?

·       The error could be corrected through the website “npra.gov.bh” and selecting the “Contact Us” on the homepage.

           

10.  When applying for an extension there are “personal information”, should the applicant mention the information of the agent or the company?

·       “Personal Details” of the applicants.

 

Questions related to the Passports Directorate Services

11.  How to apply to issue a Bahraini passport for the first time?

·       Apply for the issuance of a Bahraini passport for the first time through the website “npra.gov.bh” and select “directorate services”, then select the concerned directorate and the service type. Learn about the required steps, conditions and documents for the services.  You can apply through the “Contact Us” system mentioned below and follow steps, fulfil conditions and attach the required documents.

When your request is approved, you will receive a message to pay the fee and the passport will be provided at the NPRA office in Isa Town. It is essential to bring the original copies of the attached documents.

             

12.  How to apply for amending the details of the Bahraini passports?

·       Apply to amend details of the Bahraini passport through the website “npra.gov.bh” and select “Contact Us” system in the homepage and then “Other”. Apply after reading the terms and conditions and attached the required documents for the services.  When your request is approved, you will receive a message to pay the fee and the passport will be provided at the NPRA office in Isa Town. It is essential to bring the original copies of the attached documents.

 

             

13.  How to apply for a replacement of Bahraini passport?

·       Before applying for the service, ensure that you have the passport and it is not damaged. The request is applied through the government e-portal “Bahrain.bh” and follow the application steps and rules.

The passport will be provided at the NPRA office in Isa Town. It is necessary to provide the original copy of the previous passport.        

 

 

 Questions Related to Visas and Residence Directorate Services

14.  How to receive the entry visa after it is issued?

·       The entry visa will be sent via email which is registered in the application form.

 

15.  Can the stay period of the visiting visa be extended? What is the extension fee? 

·       The validity of all expired visas has been automatically extended to the 21st of October without fees. You don’t need to apply for extension.

 

16.  What is the required procedure after the end of the visiting visas of stranded foreigners?

·       The validity of all expired visas has been automatically extended to the 21st of October without fees. You don’t need to apply for extension.

 

17.  How to extend the stay period of a three-month or one-year visiting visa?

·       The validity of all expired visas has been automatically extended to the 21st of October without fees. You don’t need to apply for extension.

 

18.  Because of the suspension of all flights, we have been stranded in Bahrain. Do we have to pay the fee for extending the visiting visas?

19.  Is it possible to apply for a new multi-entry visa valid for residents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia when the previous visa expires?

20.  How to apply to issue, renew or cancel a residence permit for individuals working for organizations that are not under the Labor Market Regulatory Authority?

·       Apply via website “npra.gov.bh” and select “Contact Us”.

21.  When the domestic worker - the housemaid - wants to travel and it is not possible due to the suspension of all flights, do we bear the fees for renewing the residence permit?

·       Kindly provide us with details about the residence permit (valid- expired- cancelled)

 

22.  How to renew the residence permits of foreigners who are under the Labor Market Regulatory Authority and who are currently outside the Kingdom of Bahrain?

·       The Labor Market Regulatory Authority is the concerned organization of renewing work permits and residence permits of employers investors and their families.

 

23.  How to apply for a dependent visa for those working in Saudi Arabia?

·       Apply via website “npra.gov.bh” and select “Contact Us”.

 

24.  How to apply for issuing or renewing a residence permit for school and university students?

·       Apply via website “npra.gov.bh” and select “Contact Us”.

 

25.  How to change the details of the passport of a foreign resident in the NPRA system in case he issued a new passport?

·       Apply for details update via website “npra.gov.bh” and select “Contact Us”.

 

26.  How to stick the residence permit sticker on the passport of the resident after the procedures of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority are finalized?

·       Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) will be allocated to provide the residency permit stickers only from Sunday, August 9 from 8 am to 2 pm NPRA's Muharraq office.

 

27.  To complete some applications in the Kingdom, there is a need to show the residence permit issued by the NPRA, as some of those applications couldn’t be processed without the residence permit fixed in the passport, how to deal with such situation?

·       Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) will be allocated to provide the residency permit stickers only from Sunday, August 9 from 8 am to 2 pm at NPRA's Muharraq office.

28.  How to apply for Bahraini nationality?

Print and fill the form and attached the required documents and apply through “Contact Us” and select “Service Request” and apply after reading the terms and condition. Follow the mentioned procedures and attached the form and the documents.    


29.  How to request for cancelling or postponing the interview for getting the Bahraini nationality?

·       Via the website “npra.gov.bh” and select “Contact Us” system or calling the Nationality Directorate on 17399759.
