Travel permit issuance request for lost or damaged IDs abroad service launched

Nov 18, 2024

The Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) and the Information and eGovernment Authority announced the launch of travel Permit issuance requests for lost or damaged IDs abroad service in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry. The step aims to facilitate the processing of citizens’ transactions and provide competent and high-quality services, per the instructions of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.  The service is via the National Portal Bahrain.bh for citizens who travelled using their IDs instead of passports to Gulf countries.

The NPRA highlighted that the new service would facilitate citizens' fast return to Bahrain, allowing them to apply online for travel permits. They will receive text messages inviting them to access the electronic inquiry service available through the portal to view, share or print the issued travel permits and present them to the competent authorities upon their return to the country.

The NPRA added that the new service also allows users to apply for family members in case of loss or damage to their IDs. Those wishing to inquire and get more information about this service can contact 17077077, visit the NPRA website www.npra.gov.bh, submit comments and suggestions through the National Suggestions and Complaints System "Tawasul", or via the Tawasul application.
