Residence Permit for the Foreign Wife of a Bahraini Citizen

Description of Service

A residence permit can be issued or renewed for the foreign wife of a Bahraini citizen, within the applicable rules and regulations of the Kingdom of Bahrain

Required Terms of the Service

• The application must be submitted by a guarantor or an authorized person
• Each application must be submitted separately, along with all relevant documents
• The applicant must be located inside the Kingdom of Bahrain to submit the application

Procedure

• Apply through any of the service channels
• Pay the application fee(s) and get the receipt

• NPRA official website (for renewal only)
• Personal attendance at Muharraq Security Complex - Isa Town branch
• eGovernment official website

• 5 minutes

Required Documents

Issuance:

• Service Application Form (Service centers only)
• Copy of Guarantor’s ID
• Copy of Applicant’s (Wife's) ID

Renewal:

• Service Application Form (Service centers only)
• Copy of Applicant’s ID (Service centers only)
• Copy of Marriage Contract issued by Bahrain Sharia Courts or from any other country (must be attested). (Original contract required for service center submissions only)
• Copy of Applicant’s (Wife's) Passport valid for more than 6 months. (Please attach a copy of the family details page or any additional information)

For Residency Renewal from Abroad:

• Proof of Residence Outside Bahrain (official letter)
• Active Contact Details (Email & Phone Number)

• The Directorate reserves the right to request any additional documents or details as deemed necessary at any time.

Note

• Holders of this residency type are not allowed to work (paid or unpaid) unless an official permit is issued by the relevant authority.
