To implement the decision of the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to develop residency rules and support development in economic, investment and service sectors by attracting competencies. Along with the follow-up of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) issued more than 10,000 golden residency permits for individuals from 99 countries. The beneficiaries include property owners, talented individuals, artists and athletes, in addition to long-serving employees and their families, after meeting all the necessary conditions and standards.
This was highlighted on the sidelines of the second edition of the Gateway Gulf 2024 forum that Bahrain hosts with the participation of international senior government officials, business leaders and CEOs
The Interior Ministry Undersecretary for NPRA, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa highlighted the instructions of HE Interior Ministry contributed to reinforcing the investment environment in various fields and supporting the national economy per the inspirations of the 2030 economic vision and the digital transportation for residency services.
He said that the golden residency is given to employees or retired individuals who continuously lived in Bahrain for more than five years and with an average salary of BD2000 and more. Those fulfilling the conditions could immediately get the golden residency according to the following categories:
1. Property owners: own a property or properties worth more than BD200,000 in Bahrain.
2. Retied individuals: Monthly income of around BD4,000 and more.
3. Talented individuals who fulfilled the criteria.
