The Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) at the Interior Ministry signed a memorandum of understanding with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security of the United Arab Emirates to implement the “One Stop” project for pre-entry of travellers.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the Bahraini side by Assistant Undersecretary for Ports, Search and Follow-up, Brigadier Abdulaziz Abdulrahman Al Doseri, while it was signed on behalf of the Emirati side by Executive Director of the Air Ports Affairs Sector, Dr Hamad Saif Al Mashghouni, in the presence of officials from both sides.
The MoU aims to establish an institutional framework for cooperation in implementing the project and exchanging travellers’ pre-entry data in accordance with the highest standards of information security and data protection. This supports the integration of electronic systems and enhances the efficiency of operational procedures and the quality of services provided to travellers.
The two sides affirmed that this step reflects the depth of cooperation between the two countries and contributes to supporting joint Gulf action, developing the ports system, enhancing security, and facilitating traffic.
The signing of the MoU in Abu Dhabi comes in implementation of what was approved by Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Interior Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries during their 42nd meeting regarding the launch of the “One Stop” initiative, as part of efforts to enhance Gulf integration and develop the travel and movement system, in line with technological developments and in a way that raises the efficiency of security services.
The Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates launched the “One Stop” project on 16 February 2026 through Bahrain International Airport and Zayed International Airport. The project enables travellers to complete entry procedures for the destination country before departure, contributing to reducing procedure time upon arrival and enhancing the smooth flow of passenger movement.
