Maan Programme achieves Arab recognition by winning two awards

The Maan (Together) Programme Against Violence and Addiction has achieved a new Arab milestone by winning in two categories at the Arab Intelligence and Creativity Award, affirming its excellence in prevention, innovation, research and development, as well as its ability to transform awareness and educational expertise into scientific and knowledge-based initiatives that support institutional work and enhance community security.

The first award was in the educational and academic sectors category for the Maan curriculum, a preventive educational program targeting young people. It contributes to promoting positive values, enhancing sound decision-making skills, and raising awareness of the risks of violence, addiction and dangerous behaviours through organised training and awareness content that meets the needs of the school environment and society.

The programme also won in the applied personal innovation category for the EAST Strategic Planning System, one of the intellectual properties of the Maan Research and Training Centre. The system aims to support institutional planning through a systematic, practical approach by transforming ideas and initiatives into clearer, measurable plans that can be followed up on, enhancing implementation quality and the sustainability of outcomes.

On this occasion, Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) and Chairman of the Maan (Together) Programme Against Violence and Addiction Committee, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, received the two award shields at the Maan Research and Training Centre.

He affirmed that the programme’s continued achievements come within the framework of the support extended to prevention and awareness programmes by His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, and the Interior Ministry’s keenness to promote a culture of innovation and scientific research, while developing security and community initiatives aimed at protecting young people and enhancing community security.

He praised the research team's distinguished efforts and its high level of professionalism in preparing the two submissions and presenting their outcomes in accordance with a scientific and institutional methodology capable of competing for regional and international awards.

He affirmed that this achievement reflects the efficiency of the national cadres working in the programme and their ability to represent the Interior Ministry and the Kingdom of Bahrain honourably.

He also praised the quality of the ideas and the developable outcomes included in the participating intellectual properties, underscoring the importance of benefiting from them in preparing future studies and initiatives that contribute to enhancing preventive work and developing awareness, training, and scientific research tools related to the objectives of the Maan Programme.

This achievement adds to the record of successes achieved by the Maan at the local, regional and international levels. It reflects the programme’s ability to transform field and knowledge-based expertise into influential research and intellectual initiatives that support development and institutional excellence.
