Maan summer digital programme launched

Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) and Chairman of the Maan (Together) Programme Against Violence and Addiction Committee, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, visited the Maan Research and Training Centre to launch the Maan summer digital programme.
The visit was held in the presence of Director of Crime Prevention and Director of the Maan Programme, Ali Ahmed Ameeni, and a number of those in charge of implementing the programme.
During the visit, the Undersecretary was briefed on the workflow and activities provided to participating students, most notably the interactive activity linked to the Roblox platform. The activity aims to utilise educational games and digital environments to enhance security awareness and positive behaviour among young people through modern educational methods that suit the interests of the new generation of students.
He also listened to a briefing on the programme’s implementation mechanism, training phases, and the nature of the interactive activities delivered within a safe and stimulating digital environment. The programme contributes to delivering awareness messages through an approach based on experience and practice, while enhancing students’ ability to deal consciously with various challenges and technical environments.
Shaikh Hisham affirmed the importance of keeping awareness programmes in line with modern technological developments and benefiting from digital platforms and game-based learning to build early security awareness among students.
He noted that employing interactive technologies in education and awareness is an important step in developing prevention tools and strengthening partnership between the security institution and society, in line with the objectives of the Maan Programme in protecting young people and instilling positive values in them.
The Maan summer digital programme contributes to providing digital awareness content through gaming platforms, supporting innovative methods in prevention and awareness, and enhancing students’ interaction with security messages in a way that suits the interests of new generations.
The Roblox platform activity also aims to develop students’ skills in dealing safely and responsibly with digital environments, enhance awareness of the risks of negative behaviours in the virtual world, and instil the concepts of cooperation, respect for others and sound decision-making. It also develops creative thinking and problem-solving through simulation and experience-based activities.
At the end of the visit, the NPRA Undersecretary praised the efforts of those in charge of the programme and the quality ideas they present to develop awareness work. He affirmed the importance of continuing to develop preventive initiatives and enhancing their community impact through programmes that combine knowledge, technology and direct interaction with students.
