NPRA Delegation Participates in ICAO PKD Annual Meeting

A delegation from the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), headed by the Director of Passports, Major Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, participated in the 32nd Annual Meeting of the Public Key Directory (PKD) of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), held in  Canada, with the participation of representatives from 107 member states.

The Kingdom of Bahrain’s participation aimed to review the latest developments in electronic passports and to familiarise participants with best practices in travel document security and the technologies supporting electronic verification processes.

The meeting addressed developments to enhance the reliability of the PKD system and its role in facilitating travel procedures, as well as improving member states' preparedness in border security.
