Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, with Senior Official at the Counterterrorism Bureau of the US Department of State, Monica Jacobsen, co-chaired the fifth round of the joint Bahrain–United States Strategic Security Dialogue. The meeting was held via videoconference, with the participation of the Ambassador of the United States to Bahrain, Stephanie Hallett.
The NPRA Undersecretary underscored the importance of convening the meeting as a continuation of the positive outcomes of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa's visit to the United States, which reaffirmed the strengthening of frameworks for joint security cooperation and coordination between the two countries.
During the meeting, discussions focused on ways to address emerging and transnational threats, as well as areas of joint security cooperation, in support of efforts to enhance security and stability and advance shared interests.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chief of Police, Major-General Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Chief Executive of the Financial Intelligence National Centre, Shaikha May bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, along with a number of officials from both sides.
