NPRA Undersecretary opens training course on advanced border security system

Nov 16, 2025

The Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, inaugurated a training course on the advanced border security system.

The NPRA organised the course in cooperation with SITA, a company specialised in information and communication technology solutions for the air transport sector.

The NPRA Undersecretary affirmed that organising the course is part of efforts to enhance the capabilities of Interior Ministry personnel and improve operational efficiency at border checkpoints.

He noted that it represents a continuation of a series of training programmes aimed at qualifying staff at entry and exit points in line with technological developments in border security and passenger management. He added that these programmes fall within the Interior Ministry’s strategy to improve service quality and achieve digital transformation in its operational systems.

He explained that the system will rely on artificial intelligence technologies to analyse passenger data and detect potential risks in advance, thereby expediting verification procedures and improving the travel experience. He emphasised the NPRA’s commitment to continuing the adoption of innovative solutions that support seamless travel and digital transformation, enhancing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s standing as a leading centre for smart travel systems.
