The Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, received a delegation from Dubai’s General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs as part of a visit aimed at reviewing best practices adopted in the Kingdom of Bahrain in visas, residency services, and regulatory operations.
At the beginning of the meeting, the NPRA Undersecretary welcomed the visiting delegation. He stressed the importance of exchanging expertise between the two brotherly countries to develop administrative systems and facilitate procedures for beneficiaries, reflecting the depth of Bahrain–United Arab Emirates relations.
During the visit, both sides reviewed Bahrain’s experience in developing its visa issuance system for visitors and the operational mechanisms associated with it. They also discussed visa-issuance procedures between the two countries and ways to streamline processes to facilitate passenger movement further.
The delegation was also briefed on Bahrain’s residency systems, including the Golden Residency, Platinum Residency, and the Self-Sponsorship Scheme, and exchanged expertise on shared challenges in visa and residency processing, as well as on enhancing cooperation to develop mechanisms to address violations and implement modern regulatory systems.
For their part, the UAE delegation expressed their appreciation for the advanced practices and pioneering experiences observed in the Kingdom of Bahrain, affirming their keen interest in strengthening cooperation and expanding areas of knowledge exchange.
